Musketeers back at it tomorrow with another doubleheader, starting at noon

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Xavier baseball fell in the second game of a Saturday doubleheader at Wofford, 5-2. Xavier took a 2-0 lead into the eighth inning after Nick Zwack went 6.2 scoreless innings in his second start, but a five run bottom of the frame put the Terriers ahead.

Xavier is back in action at Wofford tomorrow, playing a doubleheader, starting at noon. The first game will be seven innings, followed by a nine inning outing.

XU AT THE PLATE

Alex Helmin picked up a pair of hits, going 2-of-4 at the plate.
Jack Housinger hit a single in the fourth inning to move Jack Krumbach into scoring position. Housinger finished 1-of-4 at the plate.
Natale Monastra went 1-of-4 at the plate, picking up an RBI in the fourth inning.
Luke Franzoni also picked up an RBI in the fourth inning.
Kody Darcy and Grant Stephenson each picked up a hit as well.

XU ON THE MOUND

Nick Zwack went 6.2 innings, not allowing a run on five hits and four walks, striking out one.
Xander Rojahn entered for the final out of the seventh inning, picking up the final out. Rojahn came back out the eighth inning, putting a pair on base with walks.
Jack Lynch entered in the eighth inning, going 0.2 innings and facing four batters no hits and a pair of walks. Lynch was responsible for two earned runs.
Dorsey Chatham picked up the final out of the eighth, facing two batters, allowing one hit and one earned run to score

HOW THE SCORED

4TH INNING | Jack Krumbach reached on an error to lead off the inning and a Jack Housinger single sent him to third. Krumbach came home on a Luke Franzoni sac fly to make it 1-0 Xavier. Housinger stole second to move into scoring position and came home on a Natale Monastra single to make it 2-0 Xavier.
