Trevor Olson Goes 7.0 Innings on the Mound in 2-1 Win at Cincinnati

CINCINNATI - Senior left-hander Trevor Olson went 7.0 innings in his second start of the season, pitching a perfect game through the first 6.0 innings, to help Xavier (4-7) pick up the 2-1 win in game one of four against Cincinnati (6-8).
Xavier took the lead on a Alex Helmin homer in the second inning, then added a run when Jeff Holtz took a one-out walk, advanced to second and scored on a Kody Darcy single. Xavier held the two-run lead going into the seventh inning when the Bearcats led off the inning with a homer, breaking up Olson's perfect outing. Olson remained through the seventh inning, and faced the lead off batter in the eighth before Trey Schramm entered to close out the game, preserving the 2-1 win for the Musketeers.
The Musketeers and Bearcats return to action on Saturday, opening up the home schedule for Xavier at Hayden Field. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.

- Trevor Olson went 7.0 innings, matching his career-long outing in 2018 at San Francisco, allowing one earned run on three hits. Olson struck out a career-high seven batters while walking none on the way to his first win of the season.
- Trey Schramm entered in the eighth, going 2.0 innings without allowing a run or a hit, striking out three and walking one. Schramm picked up his second save of the season, and 11th of his career, moving him into a tie for sixth most career saves in Xavier's record books.
