No. 24 Women's Soccer Tops the Hilltoppers in the Season Opener

Simone Rivard-Roberts scores the game-winner in the 44th minute for 1-0 victory
CINCINNATI - No. 24 Xavier women's soccer opened up the 2022-23 Xavier Athletics season with a win, topping Western Kentucky 1-0 on Thursday evening at Corcoran Field.
In the first half, Xavier's offense put pressure on the Hilltoppers, holding an 8-2 advantage on shots but the score sat at 0-0 until final minute of the half, when Grace Blumfeldt found Simone Rivard-Roberts for the lead. Xavier continued its offensive advantage in the second half, outshooting WKU 5-2 in the second period and holding a 6-1 advantage on corner kicks overall.
Xavier remains at home for its next match, hosting Ohio on Sunday, August 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Corcoran Field
