Kendall Allen Leads Musketeers to 1-0 Road Win at Memphis

Xavier moves to 2-0-1 on the season
MEMPHIS, Tenn. Kendall Allen's late goal gave the Xavier men's soccer team a 1-0 win at Memphis on Thursday night at the Billy J. Murphy Soccer/Track & Field Complex.
Xavier improved to 2-0-1, while the Tigers dropped to 1-1-1 on the year.

• Graduate student Kendall Allen scored his first goal of the season in the win. The UIndy transfer now has nine career goals (three game-winning goals). The Indianapolis, Ind., native now has a team-high three points (one goal, one assist) on the year.
• Graduate student Cameron Wheeler took the corner kick that set up the Kendall Allen goal and was credited with an assist. It was the midfielder's first assist of the season and third of his career.
• Cole Jensen (2-0-1) made five saves in 90 minutes of action. He has two shutouts in three matches this season with a 0.33 goals against average.
• Memphis held a 12-8 advantage in shots and took three more shots on goals (5-2). Xavier committed two more fouls (11-9) and took five fewer corner kicks (8-3).
• Fabrizio Bernal de la Garza paced seven Musketeers who took a shot in the match with two.
• Xavier moved to 1-2 in the all-time series vs the Tigers.
• The Musketeers return to action on Sunday, Sept. 4 vs Robert Morris. First touch is set for 7 p.m. ET from Corcoran Field.
