Men's Tennis Takes 4-3 Win at Cleveland State

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's tennis picked up a win to open the weekend at Cleveland State, topping the Vikings 4-3 on Saturday afternoon to move to 2-1 on the season.
Xavier remains at Cleveland State for its next match, facing St. Bonaventure tomorrow morning, set for a 10 a.m. start.
In doubles play, Xavier and CSU each took a 6-4 decision, with Xavier taking the No. 3 court with Marco Pennelli and Jorge Santamaria, while Ryan Cahill and Deacon Thomas fell on the No. 1 court. Cambell Nakayama and Pascal Mosberger battled to tiebreakers on the No. 2 court, but fell, 7-6 (8-6), to give the Vikings the doubles point.
Deacon Thomas took a 6-4, 6-3 win on the No. 2 singles court, while Marco Pennelli picked up a 7-5, 6-4 win on No. 5 and Jorge Santamaria won 6-3, 7-5 on the No. 6 court to give Xavier three points on two-set wins.
Cleveland State picked up a second point on No. 3 singles, 6-4, 7-5, over Kyle Totorica. On the No. 1 singles court, CSU took a three-set win over Ryan Cahill, 6-7, 6-0, 7-5, for a third point.
Cambell Nakayama won No. 4 singles, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, for Xavier's fourth singles win and the 4-3 win over the Vikings.
