03.02.23 | Women's Lacrosse
First draw set for 12 p.m.
CLINTON, S.C. - Xavier women's lacrosse continues in road play on Saturday, March 4 at Presbyterian. The matchup will be the Musketeers' fourth road game of their inaugural season.
Xavier is entering the game on a two-game win streak, while Presbyterian is coming off a loss.
Entering the program's 16th season, the Blue Hose were picked 10th in the Big South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll. As the Musketeers enter the first season in program history, the BIG EAST Preseason Poll predicted a seventh-place finish for the new squad.
In their inaugural season in 2008, Presbyterian posted a 2-2 record. In 2010, the team joined the National Lacrosse Conference and was a member until the conference disbanded in 2012 and immediately joined the Big South in 2013. Â
Since joining the Big South, the Blue Hose earned three consecutive appearances in the conference tournament from 2014-16. In 2014 they fell in the quarterfinals to High Point and in both 2015 and 2016, they dropped the quarterfinals to Winthrop. The program has seen six head coaches and earned it's best season in 2021 where the program posted a 4-10 (1-5 Big South) record.
