Musketeers face USI at 5:30 PM at Eastern Hills
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis (6-4) returns home to host Southern Indiana at Eastern Hills on Saturday, March 4. The match is set to begin at 5:30 PM, with the men's teams from each school playing simultaneously.Â
Next week, the Musketeers will travel to Louisville to face the Cardinals on Sunday, March 12, set for a 1:00 p.m. start.

 SOUTHERN INDIANA |
- The Screaming Eagles are 3-4 on the season, with wins over Indiana University Southeast, Cumberland University (Tenn.) and University of Missouri - St. Louis. They'll face NKU on Friday evening.
- USI went 7-11 last season, competing primarily in NCAA DII, with an 0-6 record in GLVC play.
- The Screaming Eagles are in their first season competing in NCAA DI.
- This is the first match-up between the two programs in Xavier's record books.

- Xavier made it a 2-0 weekend in Michigan, taking a 5-2 win over Illinois State at Michigan State on Saturday to move to 6-4 on the season.
- In doubles, the Musketeers took the first decision, a 6-4 win for Kat Lyman and Abby Nugent on No. 1, their sixth doubles win of the season. ISU took the No. 3 court, against Paulina Franco Martinessi and Abigail Siminski, 6-4, before Xavier secured the point on the No. 2 court with Imani Graham and Blessing Nwaozuzu taking the 7-5 win to put Xavier ahead 1-0.
- Paulina Franco Martinessi made it a 2-0 lead for the Musketeers with a 6-3, 6-2 win on the No. 6 court. Illinois State got a point back with a 6-2, 6-3 win on the No. 4 court against Abigail Siminski.
- Blessing Nwaozuzu took a 6-4, 6-2 win on the No. 5 court to put Xavier ahead 3-1 and Abby Nugent sealed the match for Xavier with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 win on the No. 3 court.
- Illinois State picked up a point on the No. 2 court with a 6-4, 7-6 (2) win over Kat Lyman, and Xavier picked up the final decision to set the final score at 5-2, with Imani Graham taking court No. 1 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4).

 THE MUSKETEERS |
- For the week of Feb. 27, Xavier moved in the ITA team rankings, coming in at No. 71.
- The Musketeers wrapped up the 2022 spring season at 14-10 overall, brought home the program's third overall and second-straight BIG EAST Championship and earned Xavier's third bid to the NCAA Championships.
- Five letterwinners return from last season's BIG EAST Championship squad, including All-BIG EAST selection Imani Graham, Kat Lyman, Anna Roggenburk, Blessing Nwaozuzu and Bella Kirby.
- Xavier also added four-person freshman class, Emily Flowers, Paulina Franco Martinessi, Abby Nugent and Abigail Siminski.
