Jack Housinger and Grant Stephenson combine for 11 RBIs
PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. - Career bests at the plate for Jack Housinger and Grant Stephenson helped Xavier's offense come alive in the second half of game two at Villanova, with Xavier taking the 14-1 win to secure the series victory. Xavier moves to 24-15 overall and 6-2 in BIG EAST play with the win.
After three scoreless innings, Andrew Walker got the Musketeers on the board first, leading off the fourth wih a solo home run. Villanova answered in the bottom of the frame to go to the fifth in a 1-1 tie, but the Musketeers scored in four of the last five innings to take the 13-run win.
In the fifth, Xavier scored three runs on three hits, with Grant Stephenson driving in two RBI on a single, and Jack Housinger adding a run with a sac fly. The Musketeers added two more in the sixth, with Carter Hendrickson getting aboard on a double, and coming home on an Alex Helmin double. Helmin came home on a double from Grant Stephenson to make it a 6-1 Xavier lead.
Jack Housinger made it a seven-run lead in the eighth, bringing Grant Stephenson home with a two-run homer to make it 8-1 Xavier. The Musketeers added six more runs in the ninth, with an RBI triple for Aedan Anderson, a two-RBI single for Grant Stephenson, and a three-run homer for Jack Housinger, setting the final margin at 14-1.
Xavier and Villanova wrap up the three-game series on Sunday, set for an 11:00 a.m. start on FloSports.

- Luke Hoskins made the start, going 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit with two walks.
- Jonathan Kelly entered with two on and one out in the third, getting the Musketeers out of the inning unscathed. Kelly went 3.2 innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out one and walking a pair. Kelly got the win to move to 3-0 on the season.
- Luke Bell came in for the seventh, going 2.0 scoreless innings, not allowing a hit and striking out a pair.

- Jack Housinger (2-4) hit his ninth and tenth home runs of the season, a two-run shot in the eighth, followed by a three-run homer in the ninth. He finished with a career-high six RBIs and two runs scored. His 10 home runs match for team-high.
- Grant Stephenson had a career-high four hits (4-5), drove in a career-best five RBIs, and scoring three runs, also a career-high.
- Andrew Walker (2-5) hit his fifth home run of the season, a solo shot in the fourth. He finished with an RBI and a run scored.
- Alex Helmin went 2-4, with two runs scored and an RBI.
- Matthew DePrey (3-5), Jared Cushing (2-4), Carter Hendrickson (1-4) and Aedan Anderson (1-1) recorded hits for the Musketeers on a 16-hit day.
