Musketeers and Huskies get underway at 7:00 PM at Corcoran Field

CINCINNATI - Xavier women's soccer opens up the Fall 2023 schedule for Xavier Athletics on Thursday, August 17, hosting Northeastern at Corcoran Field at 7:00 p.m. The Musketeers' match with the Huskies will be streamed through FloSports.

OPPONENT INFO

The match with Xavier is the season opener for the Huskies, who played a pair of exhibitions against Maine and New Hampshire.
The Huskies went 10-6-2 in 2022, with a 5-2-2 record in CAA play.
NU advanced to the CAA Championship match, falling to Hofstra, 2-1, in double overtime.
This is the first match-up between the two programs.

2022 SEASON

The Musketeers, who are receiving votes in the USC Preseason Poll, are coming off a 14-4-5 season in 2022, going 6-0-4 in BIG EAST play to finish second in the league standings, marking the first unbeaten conference slate in program history.
Xavier earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship for a second-straight season, the program's fifth NCAA bid overall.
In the NCAA Tournament, Xavier advanced for the second time in program history with a 4-1 double overtime win at Tennessee in the first round.

THE MUSKETEERS

The Musketeers return 19 letterwinners in all from last season, and added a pair of transfers in addition to a 10-person freshman class for the 2023 season.
Xavier returns a trio of all-conference honorees from last season, with goalkeeper Maria Galley and defender Natalie Bain earning All-BIG EAST Second Team and All-Freshman Team honors, and forward Regan Dancer picking up a nod to the All-Freshman squad.
Bain and junior midfielder Ella Rogers were selected to the 2023 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Xavier remains at home for its second match, hosting the Louisville Cardinals on Sunday, August 20 at 7:30 PM.
Louisville went 6-8-2 last season with a 3-7 record in ACC play.
The Musketeers are 14-3 all-time against UofL.
Xavier took a 2-1 win over the Cardinals win 2022 in Louisville, with Avery Lockwood tying the match in the 52^nd minute and Simone Rivard-Roberts scoring the game winner in the 76^th minute.
