Xavier fell, 2-0, at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex

EDINBURG, Texas - Xavier men's soccer dropped a 2-0 non-conference match at UTRGV on Monday night at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.

The Musketeers moved to 2-2-1 on the year, while the Vaqueros improved to 3-3. Xavier was held scoreless for the second time this season.

NOTABLE

• Xavier held a 7-5 advantage in shots, while UTRGV took two more shots on goal (3-1). The Musketeers held the Vaqueros without a shot in the first half.

• The Musketeers committed two more fouls (16-14) than UTRGV. Each team had one yellow card in the contest. The Vaqueros also took six more corner kicks (7-1) than Xavier.

• Grayson Elmquist and George Waites led Xavier with two shots each. Waites took the only shot on goal for the Musketeers. Seydou Diop and Matthew Senanou each added a shot.

• Jonny Mennell (2-2-1) took the loss in goal for Xavier. He made one save in the contest, increasing his season total to 14 saves.

• Alexis Gonzalez (2-3) posted the win in goal for UTRGV. He made one save in goal and posted his second shutout of the season.

• Bryant Farkarlun led the Vaqueros with two shots (one on goal). He now has two goals on the season. Kgodiso Sukati added one shot on goal and increased his season total in goals to three.
