CINCINNATI - Xavier men's soccer opened its BIG EAST schedule with a 4-1 win over DePaul on Friday night at Corcoran Field.

The four-goal performance is the most goals scored in a BIG EAST match by the Musketeers since Oct. 31, 2018 vs Butler (W, 5-3).

The Musketeers improved to 3-2-1 (1-0-0 BIG EAST), while the Blue Demons dropped to 1-3-2 (0-1-0 BIG EAST).

NOTABLE

• Xavier held a 19-5 advantage in shots, including a 13-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Musketeers also took three more corner kicks (6-3) and committed four more fouls (16-12).

• Jerome Jolly led the team in shots with four (three on goal), while Taylor Rhinehart added three shots (three on goal) and Grayson Elmquist posted three shots (two on goal). Dylan Kropp added two shots (one on goal).

• Taylor Rhinehart scored his first two goals of the season vs DePaul. He now has 10 career points (three goals, four assists). The forward leads the team in shots with 15 (nine shots on goal).

• Jerome Jolly added one goal and two assists. The senior forward leads the team in points with six (two goals, two assists). He now has 29 career points (nine goals, 11 assists).

• Dylan Kropp added two assists, his first points of the season. The sophomore defender now has three career assists.

• Makel Rasheed scored his first goal of the season. The senior defender now has 31 career points (12 goals, seven assists).

• Jonny Mennell (3-2-1) earned the win in goal for Xavier, making one save in 87 minutes of action. Gabriel Kuffell played the final three minutes of the match and did not allow a goal or make a save.
