The Musketeers defeated the Dukes, 2-0, on Tuesday afternoon

PITTSBURGH - Xavier men's soccer won its second straight match on Tuesday afternoon, picking up a 2-0 road win at Duquesne.

The Musketeers improved to 4-2-1 on the year, while the Dukes dropped to 4-2-1.

NOTABLE

• Xavier held a 12-8 advantage in shots, including a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Musketeers have posted 10 or more shots in five matches this season.

• Taylor Rhinehart posted a game-high three shots (two shots on goal), while Jerome Jolly and Matthew Senanou each added two shots. Eight different Musketeers recorded a shot in the match.

• Duquesne took one more corner kick (3-2) and had two more yellow cards (4-2) than Xavier. The Musketeers also committed six more fouls (15-9) than the Dukes.

• Xavier scored two, first-half goals vs Duquesne. The Musketeers entered the match with only two, first-half goals on the year (through six matches).

• Jerome Jolly scored a goal for the second time in as many matches. The forward leads the team in points with eight (three goals, two assists). All three of his goals are game-winning goals.

• Taylor Rhinehart now has two assists on the year. The forward ranks second on the team in points with six (two goals, two assists).

• Jonny Mennell (4-2-1) posted his second shutout of the season. The goalkeeper made two saves and lowered his goals against average to 1.03 on the year.
