CINCINNATI - Xavier men's soccer played Marquette to a scoreless draw on Saturday night at Corcoran Field. The match served as the program's Alumni Match.

The Musketeers moved to 4-5-5 (1-2-2 BIG EAST), while the Golden Eagles moved to 6-5-3 (2-2-1 BIG EAST).

Xavier returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Butler. First touch is set for 7 p.m. from the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl.

NOTABLES

Xavier took 12 more shots (18-6) than Marquette, including two more shots on goal (5-3). The Musketeers have posted 18 or more shots in a match three times this season.
Marquette committed one more foul (10-9) than the Musketeers and took three more corner kicks (7-4).
Marquette played down a man the final 62 minutes of action. Matt Iriarte was given a red card in the 28th minute. All told, eight cards were issued in the match (five cards for Marquette, three for Xavier).
Guilherme Vivaldini led 10 Musketeers who recorded a shot with a match-high six shots (one on goal). Cooper Forcellini added three shots (one on goal), while Ernest Mensah Jr. chipped in two shots.
Jonny Mennell (4-5-5) made three saves in 90 minutes of action. He now has 0.86 goals against average with seven shutouts on the season. The Asheville, N.C., native now has 98 career saves.
Xavier has posted 24 shutouts in 51 matches coached by John Higgins.
Xavier has now been held without a goal seven times in a match this season. The Musketeers have only scored one goal in five BIG EAST matches this season.
