Mancuso, Henry Leading Scorers in 19-6 Loss to Vanderbilt

Xavier opens the series history with Vanderbilt 0-1
CINCINNATI - Women's lacrosse fell to Vanderbilt, 6-19, on Wednesday afternoon. While Xavier allowed a 14-0 advantage for Vanderbilt in the first half, the juvenile squad held the foe to just five goals in the second half and out-scored them with six of their own.
The Musketeers fall to 3-5 (0-0 BIG EAST) and the Commodores advance to 6-3 (0-0 AAC).

• Sophomore attacker Lola Mancuso and freshman midfielder Machaela Henry were the leading scorer's for the Musketeers against the Vanderbilt defense. The duo both went 1-1 on free position goals and notched all goals in the fourth quarter, leading Xavier to out-pace Vanderbilt 4-2. Henry's goals were the first of her collegiate career.
• Also recording first goals of the season were freshman midfielder Greer Simonton and sophomore midfielder Samantha Balara. Balara's goal was the first of the season, and her fifth collegiately. Simonton's goal was both a season and career first.
• Dylan Halloran, the redshirt junior attacker, was the lone Musketeer to notch an assist, the eighth of her Xavier career.Â
• Sawyer Walker, the redshirt sophomore midfielder, led efforts on the draw with five controls, a career-high. Following her efforts were Henry with a career-high three and freshman midfielder Katherine Prentice with two.
• Redshirt senior attacker Jordan Miller and redshirt freshman Catherine Gurd both reached the career- and team-high of two ground balls against the Commondores.
• Four Musketeers were able to force turnovers on the veteran foe - redshirt junior midfielder Julia Frombach, Simonton, Miller, and Balara.
• Xavier out-paced Vanderbilt in draw controls, clears, free position goals, and saves.Â

• The Musketeers totaled seven points, four caused turnovers, seven ground balls, 15 draw controls, and seven saves.
