Men's Tennis Wraps Up 2-0 Weekend with Win Over Drake

Xavier remains in Cincinnati next weekend for a pair of matches, starting with Bellarmine, set for Thursday, February 27, at Camargo Racquet Club, set for a 1:00 p.m. start. The Musketeers will also host Omaha on Saturday, March 1, at Eastern Hills.Â

In doubles play, Christian Gonzalez and Kyle Totorica picked up their sixth-straight doubles win, taking the No. 3 court, 6-4, and Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurck combined for a 6-4 win on No. 2 court to clinch the point. Ryan Cahill and Charlie Temming fell 6-0 on the No. 1 court.
Christian Gonzalez picked up his third-straight singles win with a 6-3, 6-2 victory on the No. 2 court. Alex Kotarski added to his team-high singles wins total, now with seven for his freshman season, after coming back to take a 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 win on the No. 3 court.
Andrew Spurck won his fifth-straight and sixth overall singles match, taking the No. 4 court, 6-1, 7-5. Kyle Totorica posted his third-straight singles win, earning a 6-2, 7-5 victory on court No. 5. Marco Pennelli took the win on the No. 6 court, 6-4, 6-2.
Drake picked up a point on the No. 1 singles court, a 6-2, 6-3 win over Ryan Cahill.
