Musketeers host NKU at Eastern Hills on Friday, Drake at Five Seasons on Saturday
CINCINNATI - Xavier men's tennis remains in Cincinnati this weekend for a pair of matches, starting with Bellarmine, set for Thursday, February 27, at Camargo Racquet Club, set for a 1:00 p.m. start. The Musketeers then host Omaha on Saturday, March 1, at Eastern Hills, set for a 2:00 p.m. start.

BELLARMINE
- The Knights are 2-4 on the season with wins over Furman and University of the Cumberlands.
- Bellarmine went 7-14 last season with a 2-7 record against ASUN squads.
- Xavier faced Bellarmine last season, with the Knights taking a 5-2 win in Louisville.
OMAHA
- Â Omaha is 4-5 on the season with wins over Bellarmine, Pratt CC, Saint Louis and Creighton.
- The Mavericks went 12-11 overall last season with a 1-4 record in Summit League matches.
- This is the first match-up between the two programs.
WEEKLY AWARDS
- After helping Xavier secure the doubles point in both wins over the weekend, the pair of Christian Gonzalez and Kyle Totorica were named the BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week.
- Totorica, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, and Gonzalez, a sophomore from Burleson, Texas, took the 6-1 win on the No. 3 court against Northern Kentucky, the first decision on the way to Xavier clinching the doubles point in the 6-1 win over the Norse. The pair also took a 6-4 win on the No. 3 court against Drake, helping take the doubles point in the 6-1 win over the Bulldogs, which marked Xavier's third-straight win.
- The wins over the weekend extended the pair's winning streak to six-straight matches in doubles play.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
- The Musketeers are back in action on Sunday, March 16, hosting Dayton, set to take place at the Jim and Mary Brockhoff Family Tennis Facility on Xavier's campus.
LAST TIME OUT
- Xavier men's tennis went 2-0 over the weekend and picked up a third-straight win after topping Drake, 6-1, at Five Seasons Ohio on Saturday afternoon.
- In doubles play, Christian Gonzalez and Kyle Totorica picked up their sixth-straight doubles win, taking the No. 3 court, 6-4, and Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurck combined for a 6-4 win on No. 2 court to clinch the point. Ryan Cahill and Charlie Temming fell 6-0 on the No. 1 court.
- Christian Gonzalez picked up his third-straight singles win with a 6-3, 6-2 victory on the No. 2 court. Alex Kotarski added to his team-high singles wins total, now with seven for his freshman season, after coming back to take a 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 win on the No. 3 court.
- Andrew Spurck won his fifth-straight and sixth overall singles match, taking the No. 4 court, 6-1, 7-5. Kyle Totorica posted his third-straight singles win, earning a 6-2, 7-5 victory on court No. 5. Marco Pennelli took the win on the No. 6 court, 6-4, 6-2. Drake picked up a point on the No. 1 singles court, a 6-2, 6-3 win over Ryan Cahill.
THE MUSKETEERS
- Xavier returns six letter-winners from last year's squad, including All-BIG EAST Second Team selection Ryan Cahill.
- The Musketeer also return Christian Gonzalez, Pascal Mosberger, Marco Pennelli, Charlie Temming and Kyle Totorica.
- Xavier also added a pair of freshmen, Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurck.
