Individually, freshman Isabel Brozena placed tied for fourth

RIO VERDE, Ariz. - Xavier women's golf placed third at the WMU Rio Verde Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 23. The three-day tournament was played at Rio Verde CC.

The Musketeers posted a 54-hole score of 869 (+5), placing third in a field of 21 teams. Cal Baptist won the tournament with a score of 864 (E), while Illinois State earned runner-up honors (865, +1).

Individually, freshman Isabel Brozena placed tied for fourth with a score of 215 (-1) - her first top-10 finish at Xavier. Pusanisa Ekkantrong (Cal Baptist) took home medalist honors in a field of 103 golfers with a 54-hole score of 207 (-9).

Madison Reemsnyder (9th) and Emma Welch (t-10th) both posted top-10 finishes. Reemsnyder now has seven career top-10 finishes, while Welch increased her total to three career top-10 finishes.

Xavier continues it spring season on March 3-4 at the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate in Jacksonville, Fla.
