CINCINNATI -Â Xavier women's basketball dropped a 63-36 contest vs Georgetown on Wednesday night at Cintas Center.
The Musketeers moved to 6-17 (1-11 BIG EAST), while the Hoyas improved to 11-11 (4-7 BIG EAST).
Xavier returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Seton Hall. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. with the game being aired nationally on FS1.

The Musketeers moved to 6-17 (1-11 BIG EAST), while the Hoyas improved to 11-11 (4-7 BIG EAST).

NOTABLE
- Georgetown opened the contest on a 10-2 run on 4-for-7 shooting, taking an early lead at the game's first media timeout (4:06). The Hoyas closed the frame on a 5-2 run to take an 11-point lead (15-4).
-  The Hoyas led by as many as 17 points (23-6) with 5:24 left in the first half. The Musketeers closed within 13 points (25-12) on a Lucía Martínez López basket with 2:38 left on the clock. Neither team scored over the final 2:38 as the Hoyas maintained their double-figure lead at the break.
- The Musketeers battled back to close within five points (33-28) on a Tae'lor Purvis three pointer with 3:47 on the clock. Georgetown responded with a 7-0 run to close the third quarter, taking a 12-point advantage (40-28).
- The Hoyas outscored Xavier, 23-8, in the final quarter behind a .583 field-goal percentage (7-for-12) to pull away for the 27-point win (63-36).
- MacKenzie Givens led the Musketeers in scoring with a season-high eight points on 4-for-7 shooting. The freshman forward added three rebounds and two steals in 19 minutes of action off the bench.
- Daniela López finished with seven points, three steals and one rebound.
- Tae'lor Purvis posted five points, three steals and two assists. Irune Orio pulled down a team-high five rebounds. Meri Kanerva added a team-high four assists.
- Aizhanique Mayo finished with four points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal.
- The Musketeers were limited to a .271 field-goal percentage (16-for-59) and went 2-for-22 from behind the arc. Xavier was also 2-for-2 from the foul line.
- Georgetown posted a .457 field-goal percentage (21-for-46) and went 7-for-21 from three-point range. The Hoyas were also 14-for-16 from the foul line.
- Georgetown held a 22-16 advantage in points off of turnovers and scored four more second-chance points (12-8) than Xavier.
- The Musketeers held a 19-8 advantage in bench points and scored two more points in the paint (26-24) than the Hoyas. Xavier also scored one more fastbreak point (10-9).
- The Musketeers had 10 steals in the game, the team's ninth game of the season with 10 or more steals.
