SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Xavier women's basketball dropped a 72-47 BIG EAST contest at Seton Hall on Saturday afternoon.
The Musketeers moved to 6-18 (1-12 BIG EAST), while the Pirates improved to 17-6 (9-3 BIG EAST).
Xavier returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 12 vs Providence. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. from Cintas Center.

NOTABLE
- Seton Hall opened the game on a 6-0 run before the Musketeers responded with 7-2 run, closing with one point (8-7) with 4:02 on the clock. The Pirates closed the opening frame by outscoring Xavier, 9-3, to take a 17-10 advantage.
- The Musketeers started the second quarter on a 9-2 run capped by a Loren Christie basket, making it a one-point game (20-19) with 6:38 on the clock. Seton Hall outscored Xavier, 11-6, to end the half and take a six-point lead (31-25) into the locker room.
- The Musketeers outscored the Pirates, 15-14, in the second quarter behind a .556 field-goal percentage (5-for-9).
- Aizhanique Mayo hit a three pointer on the opening possession of the second half to get the Musketeers within three points (31-28). Seton Hall responded by outscoring the Musketeers, 19-8, to close the third quarter - taking a 50-36 advantage. The Pirates forced 15 turnovers in the frame, converting the miscues into 15 points.
- Seton Hall hit 70 percent (7-for-10) of its shot attempts in the fourth quarter, outscoring Xavier, 22-11, to pull away for the 25-point victory.
- Aizhanique Mayo scored 12 points on 4-for-10 shooting. She added three rebounds, one steal and one assist. The guard now has 17 career double-figure scoring games.
- Loren Christie added 12 points on 4-for-7 shooting. The forward added three rebounds, one steal and one assist. She now has 27 career double-figure scoring games.
- Meri Kanerva finished with seven points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
- Lucía Martínez López pulled down four rebounds to go along with two points. Petra Oborilova added four rebounds and three points.
- Xavier posted a .447 field-goal percentage (17-for-38) and went 8-for-14 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 5-for-11 from the foul line.
- Seton Hall posted a .491 field-goal percentage (26-for-53) and went 4-for-14 from three-point range. The Pirates were also 16-for-22 from the foul line.
- Seton Hall won the battle on the glass, 29-26, and held a 37-13 advantage in points off of turnovers. The Pirates also scored 12 more points in the paint (28-16) than Xavier.
- Seton Hall held a 12-2 advantage in fastbreak points and scored six more second-chance points (8-2) than Xavier.
- The Musketeers held a 32-15 advantage in bench points.
