Lacrosse Continues East Coast Trip at Old Dominion

The Musketeers look to bounce back from an 8-7 loss to William & Mary on Sunday afternoon.
CINCINNATI - The Xavier lacrosse team is set to face Old Dominion in the second game of their Virginia Beach trip. The Musketeers dropped an 8-7 contest at William & Mary on Sunday afternoon.
Haley Reeck led Xavier with a career-high four goals against the Tribe, including three in the fourth quarter to lead XU's late comeback attempt. Samantha Balara and Megan Droney both extended their scoring streaks through three games with one goal each in the loss.
Xavier is facing Old Dominion for the first time in program history. The Musketeers are 0-3 all-time against opponents fom the American Conference.
First draw is set for 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday in Norfolk, Va. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

- Megan Droney leads the team with 17 points on six goals and 11 assists. The junior ranks sixth in the league for her 1.57 assists per game.
- Maya Graham has scored eight goals to go along with eight assists. The sophomore recorded three goals and three assists in last week's 16-2 win over Detroit Mercy for a career-high six points and her second career hat trick.
- Samantha Balara has a team-high 11 goals and has recorded two hat tricks this season. She scored a career-high four goals with two assists on Feb. 20 against Mercyhurst to earn a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the first time in her career.
- Haley Reeck scored a career-high four goals on Sunday afternoon including three in the final eight minutes to lead Xavier's fourth quarter comeback attempt against William & Mary.
- Colby Wasson leads the Musketeers defensively with 22 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers. The junior ranks third in the BIG EAST for both ground balls (3.14) and caused turnovers (1.86) per game. Her 3.14 ground balls also ranks 14th in the nation.
- Jada Brandon has started all seven games in the cage for Xavier, maintaining a .500 save percentage that ranks 14th in the NCAA. She also averages 8.14 saves per game, good for second in the BIG EAST.
- The Musketeers lead the league and rank 25th in the nation for their 17.14 ground balls per game.
- Head coach Brittney Morris picked up her first win as a Division I head coach on Feb. 20 in the 13-6 victory over Mercyhurst. She is in her first season at the helm of Xavier lacrosse after leading Division III St. Mary's College of Maryland to four-straight United East conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances.
- Morris retained 20 players from last year's squad with the addition of five transfers and seven newcomers.
- Samantha Balara, Catherine Gurd and Katelyn McDonnell were named the 2026 team captains.

- Old Dominion is currently 4-3 on the season after dropping a 12-11 contest to Winthrop on Sunday.
- The Monarchs were picked to finish seventh in the American this season after a 1-5 league finish a year ago.
- Senior goalkeeper Brynn Bowen was named to the Preseason All-Conference Team. She has started in all seven games for ODU and maintains a .447 save percentage.
- Bowen was named the American Conference Goalkeeper of the Week on March 2 after recording a career-high 15 saves against Rider.
- Natalie Calandra-Ryan leads the Monarchs with 22 points on 16 goals and six assists. She ranks in the American's top-10 for goals (2.29), points (3.14) and draw controls (5.29) per game.
- Head coach Theresa Walton is in her fourth season at the helm of Old Dominion lacrosse.
