Xavier women's lacrosse continues on the road to Farmville, Va., where they will face Longwood on Sunday at 12 p.m.
Today, our Musketeers made history on that field. We came up against a very similar game to the week before and we executed the changes we needed to turn the tide. We proved that we are determined to rise, to grow. And that is the game changing difference: growth!
We had some tough breaks, like any good game will give you, but the response our players showed was to fight harder. So many players put their names on the board for the first time. And every single player from goal to goal to bench to injuries players, every single one of them won that game.
I wanted to give a huge shout to my assistant coach, Grace Beshlian. She put her heart and soul on the sidelines today. Her dedication to the players and her relationship with our team was a stabilizing factor to push us to the win. She stepped up in a big way and we wouldn't have gotten this win without her.
Lastly, I want to thank Xavier Nation. You've supported us every step of the way since our program was announced a year and a half ago. We are so grateful. Glad we were able to bring home the W for X today.
