Musketeers travel to Butler on Sunday

CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis won a fourth-straight match, topping BIG EAST opponent Seton Hall, 7-0, on Friday afternoon at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.

Xavier now travels to Indianapolis on Sunday, April 6, taking on the Butler Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. at the Indianapolis Racquet Club.

The Match

In doubles, Natalie Smitek and Emily Flowers combined for a 6-1 win on the No. 3 court in the first decision, and Abby Nugen and Clara Owen clinched the point with a 6-3 win on the No. 1 court, their 12th doubles win of the dual season.

Clara Owen made it a 2-0 lead with 6-0, 6-3 win on the No. 6 court in the first decision. Emily Flowers took the No. 4 court, 6-3, 6-0, her team-leading 13th singles win of the season, and eighth in a row.

Abby Nugent picked up her 10th singles win of the season, taking No. 2, 6-2, 6-3, to clinch the match at 4-0.

Elizabeth Pendergast won on the No. 1 court, 6-4, 6-1, and Abigail Siminski took a 6-1, 6-3 win on No. 5 to put the Musketeers up 6-0.

Madeleine Rexroat came back to win in three sets on No. 3, 3-6, 6-3, 10-3, for her 10th singles win of the season, completing the sweep of the Pirates.
