Reeck Scores Four Goals in Loss to William & Mary

The Musketeers four-goal fourth quarter fell short to the Tribe.
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Xavier lacrosse team dropped an 8-7 contest at William & Mary on Sunday afternoon. The Tribe's 5-0 third quarter proved to be enough to be take down the Musketeers.
Haley Reeck scored a career-high four goals with three coming in the fourth quarter as the Musketeers attempted to come back from a three-goal deficit.
The Musketeers fall to 2-5 while William & Mary improves to 4-3 on the season.

Haley Reeck opened the scoring three minutes into the contest with her third goal of the season for the Musketeers. The Tribe responded a minute later to tie it up, but Samantha Balara converted her first of the afternoon with 7:28 remaining in the first quarter to give the Musketeers a 2-1 lead after the opening frame.
Greer Simonton scored her third of the season to kick off the second quarter at 13:33. Neither team were able to find the back of the net for the rest of the half as Xavier went into the break with a 3-1 lead.
William & Mary ignited their offense coming out the locker room, scoring five straight unanswered goals in the third quarter. The Musketeers took seven shots in the frame but were unable to find an answer to the Tribe's scoring streak.
Megan Droney scored in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter to cut William & Mary's lead to 6-4 and Haley Reeck followed up with her second goal of the afternoon five minutes later to bring the Musketeers back within one.
The Tribe responded with back-to-back goals of their own to extend their lead to two with under three minutes to go.
Reeck scored back-to-back goals in the final three minutes to bring Xavier within one again but the comeback attempt fell short as William & Mary took an 8-7 win.

Xavier will stay in Virginia for a match up with Old Dominion on Tuesday afternoon. First draw is set for 4:00 p.m. in Norfolk, Va.
