Two Musketeers Record Hat Tricks in Loss to Georgetown

Lola Mancuso led with five goals while Megan Droney scored a career-high three goals.
CINCINNATI - The Xavier lacrosse team dropped a 22-11 contest to Georgetown on Saturday afternoon. The Musketeers' 11 goals are the most against a BIG EAST opponent since April 1, 2023 against Butler.
Xavier falls to 1-10 (0-3 BIG EAST) while the Hoyas improve to 7-5 (2-1 BIG EAST).

Lola Mancuso scored the first goal of the game and followed up with her second just minutes later to take an early 2-0 lead and force a Georgetown timeout.
The Hoyas responded quickly with five straight goals of their own to take the lead.Â
Julie Cassidy scored her first of the afternoon with three minutes left in the opening period, but Georgetown responded again with their sixth goal.
Lily Villaflor scored on a free position attempt and Mancuso scored her third of the game with time winding down in the first quarter to end the opening period down 7-5.
Georgetown opened the second period with three straight goals before Megan Droney scored one for the Musketeers off an assist by Maya Graham.
Mancuso scored her fourth of the game in the same period while the Hoyas scored two more to take a 13-7 lead into the half.Â
Droney scored her second of the afternoon to open the second half, but Georgetown had another quick response with two goals to extend their lead.
Cassidy scored for the second time on an assist by Droney in a back-and-forth third quarter as both teams each scored four.Â
Droney recorded her third goal for her first career hat trick off another assist by Graham.
Mancuso scored her fifth goal of the contest with seconds left in the third period to enter the final quarter trailing 17-11.
Georgetown then scored five more unanswered to secure the win.
