Men's Soccer Returns Home for Non-Conference Showdown with Santa Clara

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's soccer looks to return to form at home after suffering back-to-back road setbacks last week, hosting Santa Clara in a non-conference showdown on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Xavier Soccer Complex.
The consecutive losses came on the heels of a seven match unbeaten streak to start the season, which had Xavier unanimously in the national polls for the first time this season.
Xavier is now 3-2-4 (1-1-1 BIG EAST) with another home match coming up on Saturday at 7 p.m. against Villanova.
Santa Clara (4-5) enters Tuesday night on a roll, winning its last three matches after a 1-5 start. The stretch has included road wins over Cal Poly and Georgia State, as well as a 3-2 overtime win at home against Cal.

• XU then closed exhibition action on Friday, Aug. 17 with a 0-0 draw against preseason No. 7 Michigan State.
