XU has posted back-to-back ranked results, is unbeaten in last seven entering second league fixture
CINCINNATI – After posting back-to-back results against ranked opposition, No. RV/19 Xavier men's soccer continues BIG EAST action on Saturday with a 7 p.m. match against St. John's at Belson Stadium in Queens, N.Y.
The Musketeers (5-1-2) extended their unbeaten streak to seven straight matches – the longest for the program since a nine-match spurt in 2014 – with a 1-1 draw at No. 15 Kentucky on Wednesday night. That tie came on the heels of a 1-0 overtime win over No. 9 Georgetown last Saturday at XU Soccer Complex.
Stacking up convincing results, XU is starting to gain some attention nationally. The Musketeers received 55 votes in the United Soccer Coaches poll for the first time on Tuesday, placing the team 26th in the nation. The Musketeers also broke into a couple other national polls this week, checking in at No. 19 in the Soccer America poll and No. 23 in the College Soccer News Top 30.
The Musketeers haven't lost since falling in overtime during their season opener on Friday, Aug. 25 against Loyola Chicago. During the streak, XU has multiple goals in four of seven matches and posted three shutouts.

• Xavier men's soccer has reached the NCAA Tournament in four of the last seven seasons.
• The Musketeers have won 10 or more matches in six of the last seven seasons.
• Xavier is the only program in the nation with five consecutive major conference awards, including 2016 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year Cory Brown.
